Dear Tori & SMD Singles,

Thank you so much for writing to my fellow Marines and I. It was extremely thoughtful of you to take time out of your busy day to send your well wishes and bring a bit of the U.S.A. right here to our doorstep. I wish you and all of your families well and we appreciate your thoughts and prayers. The cookies. candy, DVD's and toiletries were greatly appreciated and of course I shared them with my Marines in my unit. I think it takes a special kind of person to look beyond their needs and to provide such a thoughtful and wonderful gift as the one you have given to us. . . the gift of concern. Thank you.

Here’s a little bit about us. . . my unit is originally from San Diego, California and this is our second time here and I can honestly say that not much has changed since my last visit here. It is very cold this time of year but it should be warming up within the next few weeks or so. I am in charge of the Supply Accounting Division and I have eight of the brightest and best Marines working with me. They are totally dedicated to the Marine Corps and are devoted to their duties.

We are an Aviation Supply unit and we support the numerous squadrons that fly various missions over the Al An Bar Province. It is very difficult being so far away from home, as our duties often cause us to miss special occasions and celebrations at home i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, the birth of children etc. I must tell you that the support and well wishes that we receive from wonderful people like yourselves make it that much easier to do the job that we do. There are so many Americans that do not support the war on terrorism and I have to respect their belief; however, knowing that they still support us is an awesome feeling. Thank you so much and may God continue to bless you all and your families.
